As the days of summer come to a close, our studio is energetic and resonating with joy as our community continues to grow. We are excited to welcome back and adopt familiar faces and two new ones! Passionate and talented individuals come to Overland from around the world to learn, exchange ideas, and share in one another’s culture. Here’s a quick introduction to our latest additions.
New to Our Studio
I was attracted to the firm’s work and the people. San Antonio was also a huge factor with its layers of architecture and history. Making architecture, working with a proven process, and talent excites me about working at Overland. Challenges seem to make me tick, rising to the occasion and task as best I can. My first job was driving a pea combine over 12-hour intervals in Central Washington. Being a 16-year-old kid driving a four-ton harvester 3 mph with no music was a learning lesson in staying awake and alert.

After spending the past five years living on the East Coast and in the Pacific Northwest, Germany and Kenya, I can finally call Overland and Texas my home. I interned here two and a half years ago, and I have been hard pressed to find a better firm culture and design process anywhere else. I’m excited to be joining the urban design team and cannot wait to work on projects all around the world. I’m passionate about getting lost in new cities and stumbling onto hidden treasures, which often revolve around trying heavenly new foods or taking in a killer view. Having just adopted a Lab/Basset Hound mix, I’m taking every opportunity to explore outdoor San Antonio before “winter” comes and the temperature drops below a balmy 60 degrees.

Sustainability is my passion! Architecture has given me the tools to create positive change in the natural and built environment.
After graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Fall 2015, I was selected as the AIA National’s 2016 – COTE Scholar and served as the primary author and lead researcher for “The Habits of High Performance Firms” which I cowrote with Lance Hosey, FAIA, LEED Fellow.
I grew up on the Westside here in San Antonio, have traveled the world and can say definitively that no one has better breakfast tacos than my city.
I came to know many of the wonderful people at Overland Partners through the local AIA Committee on the Environment and was determined to become a part of this most fantastic firm. I am incredibly honored to be working alongside Helena Zambrano and Qinheng Zhang as part of the Sustainability Team.

Sales Area Specialist
I’m joining Overland as a Sales Area Specialist on the Client Development team, focusing on urban design, commercial, and hospitality work. I’ve worked in commercial real estate, urban design, and construction and studied environmental science and geography during college at UNC–Chapel Hill. When I first moved to San Antonio three years ago, I found myself slowly starting to meet (and be impressed by) people whom I later found out worked at Overland. I knew that if I got the chance I would love to work somewhere like Overland—professional but with a focus on creativity, asking questions, and understanding what makes people tick. I never thought I’d actually find a way to work at Overland as a non-architect. It’s exciting to know that I’ll get to contribute to the process of finding and earning great projects and clients in market sectors that have long been interesting to me. When I’m not working, you can usually find me cooking, reading, or on some kind of adventure exploring some of the new places in downtown on my bike. And for a fun fact, I was in a xylophone band in high school and our practice rooms were in…drumroll…an Overland-designed building on campus.
